Senior Stream Ecologist – California Central Valley
Cramer Fish Sciences is seeking a Senior Stream Ecologist to support 
leadership in our River Science and Restoration Lab, located in West 
Sacramento California.

clients in California and the Pacific Northwest find innovative and 
practical solutions to challenges with fisheries, riparian, and aquatic 
ecology.  Our team achieves this through effective and unbiased data 
collection, insightful analysis and interpretation, and clear 
communication.  

Our Strengths: Cramer Fish Sciences is built around a core group of senior 
scientists with distinguished careers in fisheries and aquatic ecology, 
forestry, genetics, fluvial geomorphology, restoration ecology, 
biostatistics, and population modeling, supported by upcoming scientists 
that have outstanding scholastic achievement and training in leading-edge 
methods and technologies. Field research, lab analysis, and population 
monitoring and modeling is provided by teams of full-time and seasonal 
technical and field staff.  Each of our offices functions as a research 
lab, with a team of interdisciplinary scientists ready to help solve 
pressing fisheries and natural resource issues. Scientific integrity is 
our highest priority. We value sharing our research and expertise with 
other scientists and resource managers and regularly publish in scientific 
journals, teach university and professional courses, present our work at 
conferences, and mentor students and young professionals.

Role and Function Within Organization: The Senior Stream Ecologist 
supports these efforts by designing and implementing rigorous scientific 
studies, co-developing practical restoration designs based on the most 
recent research, authoring reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts, 
directing and mentoring junior staff, collaborating with CFS peers, and 
providing solid project management and organizational leadership of 
project objectives, tasks and budgets. The Senior Stream Ecologist 
collaborates with resource scientists from public, private, and 
educational facilities to understand major environmental challenges, 
identify potential solutions and assess costs and benefits associated with 
these solutions.
