Hello Ecologgers,

I'd like to spread the word on a project tracking phenology along the
Appalachian Trail called A.T. Seasons.

*What is Phenology?*
Phenology refers to key seasonal changes in plants and animals from year to
year – such as flowering, emergence of insects and migration of birds –
especially their timing and relationship with weather and climate.

*A.T. Seasons* is your opportunity to help track the unfolding of important
life cycle events each year along the iconic Appalachian Trail, linking
your observations with others from Georgia to Maine. By observing and
reporting seasonal changes of plants and animals you will help build the
foundation to understanding and protecting the scenic & natural beauty of
the trail corridor. The data you collect will go into the U.S.A. National
Phenology Network, a long-term data set accessible to all, used for
scientific discovery and decision-making.

*Why Use Phenology In Your Education Program?*
Observing phenology offers place-based, hands-on learning
opportunities. Phenology is an excellent lens for teaching about the
natural world.

from the Google Play store and follow a shorter monitoring protocol than
those who opt for in-person training.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. I would be happy to help you
and your organization set up a phenology site along the trail in my area -
New England.

Thank you!

Dan
