Hi all,

I am engaged in a search for job opportunities available for an entry level
(approximately 1 year of professional experience) environmental
professional. I currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada, but am willing to
relocate (with or without employer assistance) for a new position as an
environmental consultant, technician, scientist, or educator.

I am 24, hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Northern
Arizona University and am in the process of completing a second semester of
graduate level coursework in Ecology at the University of Nevada. I will be
enrolling, part-time, in an online GIS program this fall to earn a graduate
level certificate. While at UNLV, I have excelled in classes such as soil
classification and resource management, biogeography, and ecosystem and
community ecology. I have also been a very successful teaching assistant
instructing two sections of an introductory biology lab each semester. I
spent March through August of 2012 with the Bureau of Land Management as a
Conservation and Land Management Intern, a program facilitated by the
Chicago Botanic Garden. In this position, I supported restoration projects
by monitoring the effectiveness of rehabilitation techniques using GPS,
collecting native plant material for the Seeds of Success program,
assisting in small mammal trapping, and instructing in an environmental
youth education program. I have also held several other seasonal positions
including being a field botanist, an environmental consulting intern, and
an outdoor camp naturalist. I also became HAZWOPER certified through an
accredited 40 hour program during December, 2012.

If anyone knows of any potential opportunities, contacts, or just has some
helpful advice on this sort of search, please let me know! I will gladly
send my resume, unofficial transcripts, references, and any other
information to those who request it.

Thank you!

Krista J. Butler
