Please consider submitting an abstract to the AGU session on monitoring coastal change. We welcome submissions examining physical, biological, and/or geochemical coastal dynamics. Session details are below.
Best, Anastasia Piliouras John Shaw Joel Rowland Patrick Megonigal *GC050. Monitoring Coastal Change: Physical, Biological, and Chemical Dynamics on the Coast <https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm17/preliminaryview.cgi/Session22607>* Coastal environments are incredibly dynamic and highly susceptible to climate and environmental change. Changes to both upstream and downstream boundary conditions can have large and long-lasting effects on coastal landscapes, and the combined influences of sea level rise, subsidence, changing temperatures, and varying land-ocean fluxes, in addition to many other variables, can influence the physical, biological, and chemical dynamics of the coast. This session aims to bring together studies that highlight coastal change over a range of temporal and spatial scales, as well as new methodologies or techniques for measuring and monitoring coastal environments. In particular, we invite contributions from field and remote sensing studies that advance our knowledge and understanding of past and future coastal change and coastal responses to environmental variability. We encourage submissions from studies examining physical, biological, and/or chemical coastal dynamics, or feedbacks between these three spheres. *Co-Organized with:* Global Environmental Change, Biogeosciences, and Earth and Planetary Surface Processes -- Anastasia Piliouras Postdoctoral Research Associate Earth and Environmental Sciences Division MS J495 Los Alamos National Laboratory Los Alamos, NM 87545 Office phone: 505-665-2461 Cell phone: 845-891-3988 Email: anastasia.piliou...@gmail.com
