The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the 
International 
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are seeking to fill eight 24-month positions 
focused on 
developing sterile insect techniques to control the spread of Zika.  The 
positions are based 
in Seibersdorf, Austria (45 km south-east of Vienna).  Four positions are open 
to all 
qualified applicants, and four technician positions are for local recruitment 
only.  The 
application deadline is 18 November 2016 for the open hires and 17 November 
2016 for the 
local-only technician positions.

The job descriptions and applicant requirements vary by position, but most are 
looking for 
candidates with a university degree, experience in the area of work, and 
preferably an 
advanced degree (e.g. Masters or Ph.D.).  The four positions open to all 
qualified 
applicants come with a competitive compensation package, including a tax-free 
salary.
