The Institute of Evolution at the University of Haifa, Israel

Invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Professor position as the 
director of the Institute of Evolution

Preference will be given to senior candidates with research expertise in the 
field of evolutionary biology. The Institute of Evolution is a world leader 
with a legacy of over half a century in evolution research and study in various 
areas of evolution. Its uniqueness lies in its interdisciplinary approaches, 
unified in the synthetic field of evolutionary biology. The foci of the 
research include systematics, biodiversity and ecosystem evolution, ecological 
genetics and genomics, molecular evolution and cytogenetics, evolution of sex 
and recombination, evolutionary ecology, host-parasite co-evolution, 
domestication evolution, genome structure and evolution, and bioinformatics.  
Its achievements made it world renown both in national and international 
related evolution research. The Director is expected to be a worldwide leading 
scholar in the area of evolution and to bring visionary leadership to leverage 
and enhance synergies across both existing and emerging strengths at The 
University of Haifa. The Director is expected to develop a vision of how to 
build successful integration between the Institute of Evolution and the 
Department of Evolutionary Biology as well as partnerships with other 
departments and research centers at The University of Haifa, in order to 
establish new interdisciplinary activities of national and international 
distinction.
