Dear Colleagues:

I am trying to find the *origin of the word* "tacamaca" or "tacamahaca". In
a 16th century document, a tree, tacama(ha)ca, whose scientific name
is *Populus
balsamifera* L., is mentioned. As far, as I have been able to find, the
word comes from the Nahuatl. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/tacamahac .
If you happen to have a more detailed origin for the word, please send me
an email to

blayjo...@gmail.com

Gratefully,

Jorge
