Hi Michelle We had a similar situation looking for a cheap rugged tablet to work at the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Due to the limited budget, we bought a regular Ipad and a waterproof case. It only resolves the humidity problem (you need to take care of impact and temperature) but is working for us.
