U.S. Geological Survey, South Dakota Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit
Interdisciplinary Human Dimension/Wildlife Research Biologist


The U.S. Geological Survey Cooperative Research Units Program is filling the 
Assistant Unit Leader position at the South Dakota Cooperative Fish and 
Wildlife Research Unit in Brookings, South Dakota. The position requires a 
working knowledge of human dimensions of wildlife management and the 
application of structured decision making and/or adaptive management to natural 
resource problems.  The position requires the ability to (1) successfully 
interact with state, federal, NGO and professional organizations, (2) publish 
peer-reviewed scientific articles, and (3) participate in graduate level 
instruction and research programs.  The incumbent serves as a member of the 
Graduate Faculty in the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at South 
Dakota State University and teaches graduate courses in his/her research 
specialty.
