The opening Workshop for the Special Year on Mathematical and
Statistical Ecology at SAMSI (Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute) will include talks and research sessions led by many leading researchers in statistical and math ecology. Applications
for support or for participation in this Workshop are encouraged from
those with interests in applying quantitative methods to address
issues across the spectrum of ecology. The Workshop will be held
August 18-22 in the Research Triangle Park area of North
Carolina and the deadline for applications is June 18. New
researchers (graduate students, postdocs, and faculty in the early
stages of their careers) and members of underrepresented groups are
especially encouraged to apply.

See http://www.samsi.info/ for information about the Workshop and
associated Working Groups, for which attendance at the Workshop
is not required in order to participate.
