Worried about creating your data management plan for NSF? The University of California Curation Center will be presenting a webinar on Data Management Plans on Wednesday 1/11 and Thursday 1/19.
Topic: Data Management Plans: Tips, Tricks, and Tools For: Scientists, librarians, staff and researchers When: Wednesday 11 Jan 2-3pm & Thursday 19 Jan 10-11am (same webinar presented both times) How to participate: Pre-register at http://www.cdlib.org/uc3/uc3webinars.html (click on the webinar you wish to remotely attend to access the registration link) The webinar recording will also be available afterward, at the link above. Summary: Although scientists learn about methods for collecting data, there is less emphasis on managing the resulting data effectively. This is an increasingly important skill set, especially since funding agencies like NSF have begun to require data management plans. In this webinar, we will cover best practices for scientific data management and review how to use the new DMPTool, a free online wizard from CDL for creating Data Management Plans. There will be time allotted for discussion of data management and the DMPTool at the close of the webinar.
