We are excited to announce the 4th meeting of the North American Pika
Consortium (NAPC). It will take place during *February 6-7, 2017* in *Reno,
NV* at the *Peppermill Resort*, in concert with the 64th Annual Meeting of
The Western Section of The Wildlife Society (February 7-10th, 2017;
http://tws-west.org).


*Abstract Submission* Abstracts for papers to be presented as posters or
20-minute oral presentations (including Q&A) will be accepted through 11:59
Pacific time on* November 1, 2016*. Abstracts should not exceed 200 words
and should be electronically submitted via an interactive form at the

*Meeting Registration* Registration for the 4th NAPC meeting is expected to
open approximately November 1, 2016 with early registration ending Friday,
December 16, 2016 at 11:59 pm. Pre-registration will end on Friday, January
27th, 2017 at 11:59 pm. Onsite registration will be available the morning
of Mon. Feb. 6 from 7:30- 8:30 am (note that there will likely be a $20
surcharge for onsite registration). Please make sure to select the NAPC
event if you are just registering for our symposium or for that symposium
plus the TWS-WS meeting if you prefer to attend both (please visit
http://tws-west.org for more information).


*Working Groups* We are planning to schedule time for the following working
group topics but please contact ebeeve...@gmail.com if you have any
suggestions for alternative topics:

·         Population Genetics & Genomics,

·         Health & Physiology,

·         Field Methods,

·         Climate,

·         Education, Outreach and Citizen Science,

·         Distribution and Habitat, and

·         Research and Review

*Hotel Accommodations* We encourage NAPC meeting attendees to reserve a
room at the Peppermill Resort to help TWS-WS meet their contractual
obligations. A limited block of non-smoking rooms are available in the
North West Wing ($59/night) and the Peppermill Tower ($79/night). All rooms
were recently renovated and are near the meeting space we will be using for
our meeting. The resort fee has been waived. Peppermill guests who book as
part of this room block will receive free internet access in the sleeping
rooms, meeting rooms and all public areas at an increased download speed of
30.0 mbps.


Guests will also receive complimentary use of the business center, $75 of
hotel coupons, free use of the health club and pool, valet, EV charging
stations, access to the parking garage and shuttle service to/from the
airport. This rate is available until January 23, 2017 or until the rooms
in our block are sold out, whichever comes first. Please indicate that you
are attending the TWS-WS Annual Meeting to receive the negotiated rate

*Volunteer Opportunities* Interested in serving as a volunteer for this
meeting? We are looking for assistance with material preparation, equipment
