The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at NTU Singapore (NTU; www.ntu.edu.sg) seeks a Full Professor in Ecology as part of a targeted initiative to expand terrestrial and marine science in Southeast Asia. The Asian School of the Environment is a new interdisciplinary School that focuses on Asian environmental challenges. The School integrates Earth systems, environmental life sciences, ecology, engineering, humanities, and the social sciences to address key issues of sustainability and the environment. We seek an internationally prominent ecologist who works in terrestrial, freshwater or marine systems at the community and/or ecosystem levels and has a particular interest in conducting research in Southeast Asia. The new position in ecology will complement the newly developed linkage between the ASE and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in forest ecology, the Observatory of Singapore’s core strengths in Earth systems science, the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering’s expertise in microbial communities, and the Complexity Institute’s research in coupled human and natural systems. For this position, NTU seeks a scientist with an outstanding track record in the field of tropical forest, freshwater or marine ecology. The successful candidate will help establish the School as a leader in studies of ecological and ecosystem processes in the region.
