DESCRIPTION

The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in
Merced, California. The University opened in September 2005 as the tenth
campus of the University of California and the first American research
university in the 21st century. In keeping with the mission of the
University to provide teaching, research and public service of the highest
quality, UC Merced offers research-centered and student-oriented
educational opportunities at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral
levels through three academic schools: Engineering, Natural Sciences and
Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts.

The School of Engineering is proud of its faculty’s accomplishments and our
rapid growth. Over the past five years, undergraduate and graduate
enrollments have grown by 65 percent. The School currently has 49 faculty

applies to problems in environmental engineering, environmental
sustainability, and/or food-energy-water nexus. Exceptional candidates in
other innovative and relevant application areas, such as geomatics, modern
photogrammetry, and/or spatial data infrastructure, are also encouraged to
apply, but the expectation is that the candidate will teach geospatial
analysis and modeling, and remote sensing at the undergraduate and graduate
level within an environmental engineering curriculum. Competitive
candidates will have interest in identifying with existing programs,
particularly interdisciplinary programs in sustainability-related areas,
not limited to the Environmental Systems Graduate Group (
http://es.ucmerced.edu), the Sierra Nevada Research Institute (
http://snri.ucmerced.edu/), UC Water (http://ucwater.org/) and/or UC Solar (
