Dear members, Religion and Poverty Special Issue Editors: Dr Gottfried Schweiger, Dr Helmut P Gaisbauer and Prof Clemens Sedmak (University of Salzburg, Austria)
In partnership with the 2017 Salzburg Convention on Interdisciplinary Poverty Research, Palgrave Communications will be launching a special issue titled Religion and Poverty. Palgrave Communications is a multi-disciplinary open access journal publishing peer-reviewed original research across all areas of the humanities & the social sciences. The special issue aims to provide a range of disciplinary perspectives that approach the following question: can religion be used to help overcome structures of poverty, or does it sometimes contribute to hindering the processes? Contributions from sociology, development studies, religious studies, economics, theology, and other social sciences and humanities are welcomed; as are insights from different geographical settings, forms of poverty, and religious traditions.
