Applications are invited for the 9th meeting of the Summer Institute in 
Economic Geography, which will take place in Ghent, Belgium, 8-13 July 2018.

A wide-ranging week of activities will include contributions from the following 
featured participants:  Jennifer Clark (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA), 
Andrés Rodríguez-Pose (London School of Economics, UK), Michael Samers 
(University of Kentucky, USA), Kendra Strauss (Simon Fraser University, 
Canada), and Erik Swyngedouw (University of Manchester, UK).

Now a fixture in the economic geography calendar, the Summer Institute is an 
international workshop open to (a) advanced doctoral students, normally 
post-fieldwork (b) postdoctoral researchers, and (c) recently appointed faculty 
and lecturers, usually within the first three years of an initial appointment.

The local costs of participating in the meeting, including accommodation, are 
met by the organizers; travel stipends are available to those requiring them.
