I finally got around to mentioning ecopath on a few
newsgroups and we have picked up a few new people...

At present the list is about a year old and consists of
occasional discussion periods with me (jeff) providing
constant posts on different topics. Two topics coming up are
cooking and medicinal herbs.

The web page was updated to make it less personal and a
section was added for links to other sites. If anyone
has suggestions for links let me know. Here is the URL:

The scope of the list (what topics fit) has caused confusion
in the past, so here is a brief summary. The tests i use
go something like this:

 1. Ideas individuals can incorporate into their lives.
    This can be models of the future, daily activities,
    useful viewpoints (usually related to ethics or
    philosophy) and tools.

 2. Ideas should be related to ecology or sustainability.
    This can be anything that moves us one step closer
    to a sustainable world. Of course, the ideas are
    relative to our starting point and it is the "step"
    that is important.

 3. Descriptions of what someone is doing, has done, or
    plans to do.
    Generally, personal experience is valued more highly
    than opinion, cultural rules, stories about others,
    etc. Also, guilt and discomfort are not assumed to
    part of the quest for sustainability.

         The thought manifests as the word;
         The word manifests as the deed;
         The deed develops into habit;
         And habit hardens into character;
         So watch the thought and its ways with care,
         And let it spring from love
         Born out of concern for all beings....

 History is principally the inaccurate narration of events which
 ought not to have happened.
