Giovanni, Ubuntu is not in quite deep freeze. Ubuntu is currently in Debian Import Freeze, which just means that the auto-importer from Debian is turned off. Individual packages can still be synced from Debian. New versions of packages (besides bugfixes) will require a Feature Freeze Exception
