INQUIRIES INTO EPISTEMOLOGY OF THEISM: A SEMINAR IN RELIGIOUS EPISTEMOLOGY

Université de Lorraine Maison des Sciences de l’Homme – Lorraine 91, Avenue de
la Libération 54000 Nancy 3e étage

organisé par Paul Clavier et Roger Pouivet (Université de Lorraine, Archives
Poincaré - CNRS)

Theism is the metaphysical thesis according to which there exists a spirit (a
non-physical reality), present everywhere, the creator and sustainer of the
universe, free, able to do everything (omnipotent), knowing everything
(omniscient), perfectly good, source of moral obligation, immutable, eternal,
holy and worthy of worship. The purpose of the seminar is to examine some
lively epistemological questions about theism. Is it rational? How to think
disagreements between theists and non-theists, atheists, agnostics? What can we
really know about God?

Le séminaire se déroulera la langue anglaise.

Un programme en pdf et une affiche seront disponibles (sur le site) au début du
mois de mai.
