From: Xavier Maillard <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [eev] [NEWBIE] Please explain the concept Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2007 22:31:22 +0200
Hi, I'm a heavy user of eev since 2003. > So my unique question is this one: can you explain to me what is > *exactly* eev and in what it can be usefull ? :) I admit that I could not understood what eev meant first, but as I use it I found it very useful. Eev is E-script environment. E-script contains texts, hyperlinks and shell commands. Eev hyperlinks are merely sexps of Emacs Lisp, so you can define your own hyperlinks by only defining function. And they can be embedded in ANY TEXT FILES including source files. I appreciate hyperlinks by sexp. I embed sexp hyperlinks in many source files. Eev can send lines to terminals (eevnow / eech / eechannel-*) or Emacs buffers (eepitch-*). If you take a note of things about computer, using e-script is best way I think. Once you take a note of usage of shell commands, you can play back noted shell commands easily. -- rubikitch http://www.rubyist.net/~rubikitch/ _______________________________________________ eev mailing list eev@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/eev
