Regarding to the codecs, I've also noticed that in the latest ubuntu snapshot, this codecs are not included. I guess is a compilation error or so. Just try different snapshots or compile it yourself. I compiled the svn trunk code yesterday following specific instructions for ubuntu and these

Also, try this first: have you installed libopal3.4.1-plugins-non-free? I installed libopal3.4.1-plugins-non-free after installing Ekiga stable from the snapshot server. So should I try to reinstall Ekiga after installing libopal3.4.1-plugins-non-free? Michael
