I recently completed a K1 with the 4-band board including the 20M and 15M
bands and I am having difficulty trouble-shooting a receiver problem on both
20M and 15M.
The receiver powered up fine and reception on 40M and 30M is much better
than my other rig, a Kenwood TS-50. At the same time, rece
Hi the list !
I'm considering the acquisition of a KRC2-unit but not sure it will fill
my needs in a contest configuration.
I want to use the KRC2 with a K2 with a KPA100, a KAT100 and a linear
(SB220) as first radio, another transceiver as second radio, a
PC-contest-program (TR-log or similar), an
Hi folks,
I have a Plantronics headset made for desktop phone. I would like to
know if I can convert it for my K2 And how could I verify that it
could be adaptable... ??? I need a few hints... I'm not familiar with
impedance and microphone... and the needs for a K2.
Thanks.
Hi,
If you are a user who would not like having a bunch of things on the
desk other than a K2, or you are part of K2 user who do not want an
external speaker on the K2 for many reasons... not much desk space,
etc...
You can improve the sound of the K2 but putting a sound deflector over

Sounds very interesting. I'm not a VOX operator at this time, but
really consider your project when I will use it in a near futur.
Very good explanation and research !!!

HI Colin...
You're not the first to have this happen.
In the archives you will find that some people took a 1/4" or 3/8"
drill bit and beveled (by hand) the top of Q6, to give more clearance
between the screw and the collector. This works.
On some rigs, that screw goes down a little further.

I apologise in advance for the poor quality of the site, but I am much more at

As Elecraft has so carefully warned about the shorting of the PA Q6
(See Fig. 24 in the assembly manual).
i have found after about 5 additional disassembly and reassembly cycles, that
there were microscopic metallic particles being scrapped off of the Q6
counter sunk mounting hole.

'Crafters,
I having a bit of a problem. I've just recently completed a build of a KX1
and everything has gone together smoothly, as usual. The problem is with
the power transitor, Q6. If I tighten the flathead screw, Q6 must be
shorting against something, as the display goes blank and the u
