Let me build a new K2 or upgrade your present K2 for you. I have built more
than 120 K2's to date. My rates are reasonable and you receive a completed K2
ready to play. Please send me an email off line.

Egad! Even nuts, bolts and screws can get complicated!

I'm always puzzled why users would burden themselves
with LINUX machines? At one point, back in my Unix
days - I had my PC booted with both Windows and Linux.
Of course that was 10 years back - but at that point,
I couldn't think of any reason to have Linux - aside
from the novelty of it.
Thanks, Wayne. My XYL and I will be operating 1B-battery (plus solar panel)
from western Oregon with my K2 and a bunch of wire hung in the tall fir
trees. Hope to hear lots of you with your Elecraft rigs on the air.

I thought this was way off-topic, so was going to reply off-list, then I
realised...
Quality, stability, efficiency, ability to understand how it works,
ability to fix stuff myself if it ever actually
And don't forget, the ability to understand Linuxese speech.
I have no clue what you guys are talking about, nor what the
instructions mean, on explaining a install application or using one.
Now Elecraft is printed in English. I can understand kitting

Mark G3XYS asked:
Is there any reason why I cannot mount TP3 (PLL Reference Oscillator

I am thinking of getting a scope to better build and repair Elecraft radios.
I have a line on a Tektronix 2336YA 100 MHz 2 Chl. Oscilloscope that is
calibrated! It is about $200. Is this a good deal? Is this a good scope?

Hi,
I finished the first step of the 80m installation - rewinding L3 on
the KX1 board to have more windings.
Rather than press on and install the 80m board I'm taking the rig out
to play for field day.
Should I perform the alignment steps again?
Will the KXAT1 need re-aligned?
I'm not really

Steve,
The best analysis I can offer is that your mic configuration header may not
be wired correctly. It is best to check it instead of relying on what
someone has said about it.
Since this is your 1st K2, and you did not build it, I assume you are not
familiar with how it all fits together.
It didnt have the 5 volts hooked up... I popped the jumper plug off
and used 4 old hardrive jumpers and wired it for kenwood..
put her back together and she WORKED!!!way too much fun...and
relatively easy.
These Kits are the coolest:)

Twelve watts output from my K2/100 on 75 meters will drive my Alpha 99 amp to
1000 watts. My other two transceivers have to put out approx 35 watts to get
1000 watts out (which is normal driving power for this amp to put out 1000
watts). I am using the same amp input coax on all transceivers
