G'day, I have been trying to perform the Sub-RX S-meter calibration and find that following the procedure in the owners manual (D1 p50) doesn't work, at least for me. There is no way I can display the Sub-RX S-meter reading and enter the Config menu options required to calibrate the Sub-RX.

John, You are apparently building from the new manual and that can cause some discrepancy in the parts. You should have the BFOMDKT in your assortment of kits, and there *should* be a rubber stem bumper in that package. If not, do you have the KAT2 option? There are several of the stem

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has been disappointed in the sound of the K3. Coming from a Yaesu FT990 with a Heil Clear Speech speaker, the sound was smoother and less fatiguing. Moving the shift to a value of FC= 1.2 or so might help. I'm also hoping that more work will be done on the
