This is a question about the K3 Microphone connector, is it correct to
assume that the UP and DOWN operations are achieved by momentarily grounding
the pins the corresponding pins?
Secondly there is a pin designated FUNCTION, I cannot see any description of
the purpose of this pin in the manual
Dear Folks:
I have now built a K1 (#1024) and a K2 (#6922) and have deeply enjoyed doing
both. I am now currently building the SSB option for the K2. They are both
great rigs, and building them and getting them to work has been some of the
best stuff I've done in my ham radio career. I've worke
Right you are, John. I'll issue a new errata sheet to cover the
current situation.

I calibrated the S meters on all my friends' and my own K3's with the
XG2. All display S9 at 50 uV and S2-3 at 1 uV, which is normal.
On one of them, however, signals up to S9+20 dB seem reasonable, but
above that, the S meter goes to hardly believable +50/+60 dB, for rather
unrealistic report
Hi Tabb,
Click "Notch" then click the signal to be notched in the bandwidth
display, as the button pop-up says.
Click the notched signal again to clear...
See both pictures as an example.

Couple of notes:
The Freescale 1200w 2m amp is really making an impact for eme level
operation as the amp can be located near the antenna thus avoiding
large low-loss feedlines (more on that, below). I discovered another
source of this amplifier from Communications Concepts, Inc.

What I meant was "NR settings have never been adjustable using the
knob above the switch." Of course they're adjustable in the RX NR menu
entry.

NR settings have never been adjustable. But we do hope to add that
feature in a future release. For now, to adjust the NR parameters you
must use the RX NR menu entry. Search the KX3 firmware release notes
for "RX NR" for details.
You may have been changing the MONitor, AF gain, or RF gain
Joel,
Thanks for the QST update. I know I will go back and read that 2 m kw
amp article and looking forward to the May QST. Isn't it almost May
already!

I have the internal 2m module in my K3 and just went through the same
issues. I used a single yagi an M2 2m5WL I liked the truss system much
better than the 17B2's that always fail at the truss points the M2's figured
that out. It's on a 34' boom but light weight and small wind load.
