[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report

2022-11-27 Thread kevin
Good Evening,    Conditions were not as good as last week.  There was a fast QSB warble on a few stations on both bands.  Noise was moderate while copy was OK.    Fog has been moving through while the temperature drops.  My wireless connection to the Internet is blocked when it is most

Please join us on 3775 kHz, 9PM ET Sunday (0200Z Monday). 80M has been good at that time of the evening, with strong signals and little QRN from thunderstorms these days. Your net control lives in Ann Arbor, MI, and I was planning last week to (among other things) complete my online FEMA

[Elecraft] K-POD LED command not working

2022-11-27 Thread Mike Dodd
I have a new K-POD connected to a K4D, and several macros assigned to switchesF1-F8 operate correctly. Now I want to turn LED 4 on and off. The K-POD user manual says: "...LED 4 is always under user control. The following commands are used: KPLED4ON; turns LED 4 on KPLED4OFF; turns led 4

Interesting to note that the offending units were several years old. I have seen no reports of newer Feit unit being problematic. For that reason I would not avoid Feit out of hand. Manufacturers change designs all the time so what was OK this month may not be the next. But I agree that

FWIW I have a friend who lives about a mile away and his neighbour replaced his halogen downlighters with LEDs. He also did not change the dimmer. The RFI on 2 metres completely wipes out the band. The guy is an ahole. When he found that he couldn’t listen to his DAB BC radio, he changed a few

Absolutely agree. I tested them before they were installed. One positive hint was that they have a FCC id number. My under-the-counter lights are an entirely different saga. . .. On Sun, Nov 27, 2022 at 9:18 AM Mark Newbold wrote: > Not all FEIT LED's are RFI-free. At the local Red Cross

Not all FEIT LED's are RFI-free. At the local Red Cross office I tracked down a horrible RFI problem to 23 FEIT BR30 13-watt track/flood lights in a nearby business. That business owner returned them to Costco for a refund (even though they had been installed for several years) and replaced them

The dreaded "simple RF overload" is rare. Most RFI problems are caused by RF in the shack, which gets into power lines, etc. When you DO have the former problem, it's treated by installing ferrites on the "antennas" of the devices interfered with, e.g. power, speaker, or phone lines. ONCE I
