Hi Tony,
I had the function in mind, then cajoled Lyle into doing the hard part -- the
demodulator. Somehow he figured it out in just a few days.
The key idea that led to the PSK31 and RTTY decoders was this: that a ham
receiver should be able to demodulate all commonly heard signals and

Re: CW-To-Data Feature
I'm glad you thought of it! It must have taken a while to get from
concept to production. I would imagine that it's not that simple to add
other data modes -- the foundation is there but my guess is that it
would require more code crunching?
Thanks for all.
I apologize for bringing in personal items to the reflector but I have had
numerous friends and associates responding to my email, in retrospect I
probably should have either given more info or no info. My wife is doing
really good, and I have an update on my QRZ.com site for any questions ,

That was needlessly snide and nit picky.

Please disregard my post as I have "re-found" the answer.
Long story short...I started this activity some six months ago and had to stop
for personal reasons.
I had simply forgotten that Ray K2ULR had provided the answer back then.
When I realized it, I tried to stop my post but Keith WE6R
A ham asked a simple question about the TUN function and got a bunch of
criticism about terminology. There was only one post (mine) that actually
answered his question helpfully. That is not a good look for this list.
Let’s try to be Elmers and dial back the negative stuff.

Karl,
We usually do have a pre-net call up, sometimes as much as 15 minutes
early, and several of the stations last night were running 'barefoot'
(100W), some into EFHW wire antennas, so please don't despair. Since I
was having antenna issues last night, I ended up running barefoot
myself,
Thanks Richard. That's probably going to be my next step.I'm at my FL qth so
only one radio and 1 antenna. I'm hoping to get this fixed so I can work

Yes; "CONTINUOUS wave."
It's not really an unmodulated
You are correct, it puts out a plain carrier, CW with the key held down.

Do you have a watt meter between the KX3 and the loop?

I have had similar problems a couple of times over the years and it was
the coax connectors on the synthesizer board. Simply unplugging them

gain is not turned down.3. I swapped to antenna 2 port on the radio and
switched to antenna 2. Same behavior as before.4. I connected my antenna
analyzer to the coax coming out of the back of the radio. All readings
Hello,
My question is about the "TUNE" selection (half second hold of the XMIT button).
The manual's wording is
"TUNE is used to put out a CW signal at the power level selected by the __ PWR
control.".
Normally, "CW" means morse-code.
But, in this instance, am I correct in thinking it
