Thanks, Jim. I discovered that the top plate of the tripod would come apart
allowing me to attach the adapter and then attach it back to the tripod. I
should have investigated this more fully before troubling the list.

I had a similar problem but solved it by carving out part of the side of the
tripod platform to accommodate the bnc connector extending downward. The
tripod still holds a camera if necessary.
