found an Allied Radio and a Lafayette Radio catalog in an abandoned
homesteaders cabin on the family ranch that some hunters had left behind after
using it for shelter during the Montana deer hunting season. Old
Good Evening,
Conditions were good on 40 meters but great on 20. Strong signals
with low noise makes life easy. Very little QSB too. I think that CME
missed. Between nets I went outside for a while. Lots of birds were
moving because of the squirrels bombing them with cones. Off in the

Talk top Keith who does tech stuff for Elecraft.
This started happening after I put my 2M module in... Then I slipped
with a screwdriver and shorting a resister so Keith fixed it all for me.
Not sure WHY it was throwing High CURR, but he got it all fixed up a

Pete,
Connect a dummy load to the K3 (alone) and see if it still has the problem.
If the K3 alone is OK, then connect the KAT500 and put the DL on one of
the ports - do a TUNE and then try transmitting. If OK, then try
another KAT500 output and repeat.
Cables are easily checked by
Suddenly I've begun getting these messages after transmitting,
especial;ly on 10 MHz. Only change in my station is that I added a
borrowed KAT-500 tuner to my K-3 while my KPA-1500 was back at
Watsonville. I surmised that the problem might be due to defective
cables, so I've been changing

I have a vanilla K4D (non HD, no auto tuner) Serial #673 that I wish to
trade for a loaded K3S + cash.
I have original shipping container. Would like a local deal (Eastern MA or
NH) if possible.
As you probably know the K4 is a great radio but I am a CW op and don't use
most of the features.

Jerry,
One way to interest a son in radio and electronics expose him to others of his
age that are interested and playing with it. Possibly a call to a local scout
master to see if he has any charges that have a similar interest.
Sometimes it takes a few years. I exposed my secretary’s sons
