You will want the wider range. It will cover the freqs you want on 40m and
also allow you to get to WWV on 30m.

There was one on either QTH or eham this morning. It was pretty basic and
fairly cheap -- $400-$500 if I remember correctly. You can always add more
later.
Good luck on the search.

My experience is that my K2 and K1 both hear better on CW than my TS2000.
Enjoy the K2. I have one I purchased used, but am getting the itch to build
my own!

I just completed assembling a K1. It works fine on receive and transmits
properly on B1 but not on B2.
I have two 2 band filter boards, a 40/20 that I've had for a while and a
30/17 that I just built. Both work the same in the K1. I have full power on
B1, but nothing on B2. The display shows 0.1
I'm just finishing the build of a K1 and I have a K2 that I purchased used. I
love the K2, it works great, but now I really want to build one of my own.
I enjoy the building and although the KX3 is a lot more radio, I think I
would go with the K2 for the building experience.
Good luck.

It just passed the receive test. So far the only issues are that I screwed up
the &%#$ back light by heating the anode for too long. Had to get another

The question I have is getting it on rtty and PSK31. I am thinking of
purchasing a Rigrunner Nomic. Is anyone using one of these with the K2?
Thanks.

I've had a couple of K1's but I am actually constructing my first one from a

Looks about the same size Don, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
First off -- I got a repair to finish that's at the other end of the ham
radio spectrum. I had a LV transformer go on my Collins 32V2. It's been

After frying D19 (see other thread) I searched around San Diego for a 1N4753
with no success but did locate an NTE147A which is 33V 1W. as opposed to the
32V 1W. I presume this is a satisfactory replacement.
Is that the case?
Thanks again.
