Hi Tim,
I worked on the Home Power standard from its inception. I Was able to make
sure that none of the ham bands were used at all. Thus HomePower (or Powerline
as it gets called) should be the perfect solution to your problem.

You could use most of the circuitry of the SMK-1 40m QRP rig to do exactly what
you describe Wayne (leave off the PA!). The SMK-1 has Full break-in, no clicks
or chirps, and a half-decent receiver in it. Feel free to use the design as you
see fit.

Why not just use the amp as-is near the 220V outlet and run longer RF coax
cables to the amp from your operating position?

I was tidying up and found what appears to be an unused K1BKLTKIT - LCD
Backlight Kit for a K1.
Since I sold my K1 years ago, I'll give this away free to a good home. First

Hi Wayne,
I plan to use a KX2 on 28-30MHz as an IF for microwaves (right now I use my

In the Bay Area on 10GHz we have a linear translator (always on) that uses a
-600KHz split.
Most of us use FM through the translator (easier to set up the shift on FM
than on SSB or CW).
