Hi,
The issues with Hum seem to have been sorted. I did some tests with a few
stations, and a ZL and they indicated my CW transmissions are as clean as a
whistle.
I think that problem may have been some RF in the shack. Never mind... it
gave me the morning to run around and get the panels off
Hi folks,
I recently posted about my raspy CW audio on the K2. It is most evident on
20 and 40m. My shack is grounded.
Today I replaced the RFC15 just to make sure that wasn't the issue.
I have removed the KPA 100 and returned the QRP lid. The issue still
exists.
Any suggestions to clean
Hi,
I noticed last night i have a raspy hum on CW and SSB when transmitting on
20m. The other bands seem to be fine. Has anyone else encountered this?
I have searched the archive and another person experienced the same but I
can't see if the operator found a solution.
Cheers,
Dave.

Hi,
I am wanting to reinstall the KAF2 to my K2. It appears from the KDSP2
manual it would be a simple procedure to plug it into the radio. However, I
recall some parts or jumpers had to be made for the KDSP2 to be installed.
Has anyone got the link to the instructions on how to reinstall the
Hi Don,
I'm glad I found this old post.

Hello everyone,
I have just reconnected my KPA100 and I have a pop from the speaker when the
transmit switches to receive. I checked most settings including that my 8r
hold is set as per the manual. I do notice that when I set 8r normal the
pop disappears. What's the go here?
The other issue
Thanks Don,
I will check the parts mentioned. I also have a feeling I may have some
common mode currents interfering a bit. I've recently put up a sloper under
the hex beam. I need to play with this. The pop on switch to RX is more
prominent on the lower bands. When I set the power to less
Don,
I have fixed the mechanical buzz from the SSB tx on the KPA-100. The fault
was mine. Across the RF Aux input between the PCB and the heatsink there
seems to be a blue resistor with the colours Brn-Blk-Blk-Org-Brn with one
leg that was touching the heat sink. The legs are long and so I
Hi folk,
I've dusted off my K2 and decided to QRP OP on CW now the bands are up and
running. The RX is perfect and filters alignments and freq cal is spot on,
or near perfect.
Since I've had this radio the Max power output on 20 - 10m has been well
below 10watts. In fact I can only get 5 watts
Hi,
If anyone is selling a well built and working SSB module for the K2, please
email me off the list.
Regards,
Dave.

What happened to the Elecraft Amps? Did they get beyond 'proto: gee I want
one' stage?

After how many years? I finally fixed the intermittent sensitivity issue I
had with my K2. The problem was not a latching relay but a cap on the
bottom of the main board. The legs of this cap protrude under the NB
option. I noticed that one of the legs had not been soldered through the
hole
Hi Tom,
I sometimes get that on 40mx with my NB on in the presence of strong
broadcast stations. If I turn the NB off all is well again.
I know this may not necessarily help your situation. Is your distortion all
the time?

Hi Paul,
I have had my K2 on air since 2004 and when I purchased other radios such as
the PROII I have had to sell them because I prefer the sound of the little
K2, and it's performance is as good if not better.
You won't be disappointed if you go the K2 route. It can be frustrating if

You need either a relay buffer or an Ameritron ARB-704.
