I have a Q5 Signal 100W transverter. The required drive power, 1mw, for full
transverter output, is set in the “L” range of the K3 XVx PWR config option.
When I vary the drive power from 0.1mw to 1.5mw, there is no change in the
output power of the transverter indicated by the in-line analog wat

Tried what you suggested Gary. No joy. The upper limit with the PWR knob
remains at 0.8MW. I can adjust downward but not upward. Need to get a good
power meter on it and see what the actual output is. And, I’ll try the
low-level power calibration process and see what happens.
Thanks again.
Using the Config Menu, I have set the drive level at the maximum for the
transverter at 1 MW. However, when I check the drive from the front panel PWR
knob it reads 0.8MW and I cannot adjust it any higher with the knob. Nothing I
do seems to change the the PWR knob drive level. I am running S
Check out the N3FJP ACLogger. It is excellent for general logging plus
multiple ’special’ logs including the CQ WPX logger which I ‘assume’ would
include all modes.
Good luck!

When I key the mike, my friends hear a hum on my signal that is not there when
I use the Heil Proset K2/K3. I hear the same thing when I monitor my signal on
the KX3.
I’ve checked the connections at both ends and do not see anything amiss. At
the mike end, the ground wire is ‘floating’ and no
junk out there.

I am in the process of getting familiar with my newly acquired KX3 purchased
for POTA and am enjoying it immensely.
I am powering it with a 14.8V, high quality, Yamaha walwart - very little
internal noise. Settings indicated in the VFO B display area using DISP are
normal.
When I set the PWR
I have a new Q5Signal 432 100w transverter all hooked up, did all the
appropriate settings on the K3 (I think) but K3 is not ‘hearing’ through the
transverter nor is the transverter being driven when I key the mike although
the transmit light is on when I do key it but no output power LED’s are
Anyone have experience using the K3 with the Q5 Signal Transverter. I’m
considering the purchase of their 50w model.’
Thanks so much for any ideas/suggestions, etc.
