All, I am missing something or having a senior moment. I have tried the memory
editor to put in a -1.7 mhz offset 6 meter repeaterno luck. Only get -1
mhz offset.
Must be missing something or assuming something. Anyone been here before and
know the best way to store this in a KX3 memory c
All,
Noticed this when using skimmer and reporting spots to the RBN. When I have a
strong station reported I will also spot a copy of that station weaker and some
16 to 18 khz higher on the band.
Is there a solution to eliminate the false weaker image?
Thanks, John N0EVH

Came into shack and hit the power switch on the K3, rig fired up and had room
filling audio. So I grabbed the AF knob to turn it down some and found it was
already counter clockwise to the stop. After rotating it some it appears to
have a spot just off the bottom that is pretty loud, like wher
Does anyone have a work around for me. I use a few of the CW memories as I am
working stations with pileups and many times I have grabbed the APF only to
find out that I had already hit the MSG key earlier, of course then sending
memory 3. Finally had to just delete the #3 memory so I would no
When I run QRP in major contests like this weekend I search and pounce and work
my way up the band bottom to top. I run with the filter on 2.7.
Using N3FJP logger and winkeyer I was wondering is there a way I can have a
keyboard shortcut to switch the K3 from the 2.7 to the 400 filter so I don'
Help! Don't like what I am seeing with 4.51..for now just need to go back

When I have the K3 turned on when I start up my laptop and it happens to be in
SSB mode the com port I use for the utility apparently causes the PTT to send
about 5 longs T's over the air. If I am in CW no problem because I have told
the rig to come up with VOX off.
Is there a setting that wil
All,
My K3 does not have the option that provides for the third antenna input
(KXV3). Would the following method allow me use dual antennas for Field Day.
Use the switched 12 volt out to drive an antenna relay to make the changeover.
Will this work? Is there a better approach?
Thanks, John
I was in the middle of making a freq change on 40 meters when a loud signal
came on so I grabbed the AF gain and found out that it will not work until
after one has completed entry of the freq and tapped the AFX button.
Not a big deal as this is the first time in two years of hard use that the
K3 Design - Cost, schedule and performance
First, I am not a radio designer by any stretch of the imagination. Love my K3.
Now about the Elecraft design philosophy versus their competition. When you

All,
Great FD here in Missouri camped at Lewis and Clark State Park. Operated class
1B with K3, deep cycle battery and 15 watt solar panel. Antenna was 80 meter
doublet at 30 feet. The battery was never taxed during the 24 hour event.
My first thought when the FD started was of my novice day

See you on the bands from northwest Missouri camped at Lewis and Clark State

I have been reading the comments about charging and floating various batteries
and just had to comment on the 'law of chemistry'.
All lead acid batteries whether they are gelcel, AGM or conventional deep
cycle, all work because of that dreaded course you tried to avoid in school
called chemistr
All, I am using my laptop and serial port to key the K3 using N3FJP logger.
With the config PTT-Key set to rts-dtr it runs ok. But, I don't think the
spacing sounds as good as when I use my paddle and the internal K3 keyer.
Anyone else heard this? Is there something to adjust? Thanks, John
All,
Wx not looking exactly friendly for the FYBO and PB events here in MO. But
I'll will spend a few hours on the local trails with my /PM setup which

I know someone out there has thought of a good solution for what I would like
to do. Want to use my K2 in the shack from anywhere around the house and
yard...say within 100 feet.
Listening to the receiver and sidetone is no problem with a wireless headphone
set. But, how to key the transmitt
