Hi John,
The P3SVGA board uses the P3's front end (down converter and a/d) making it
difficult to operate in a different span than the P3.

Hi Phil,
Have you checked all the connections, IF cable and the little RG-174 cable
internal to the P3?

Hi Scott,
When the P3SVGA board is installed the K3's 12V accessory output is right on
the edge of being able to supply enough current.
We are working on a mod kit for the K3 and should have it available soon.

Hi Tom,
We made the marker lines wider on the SVGA to be more visible given the
greater resolution and number of pixels. As you know, a 2048 FFT is
performed on the SVGA, completely separate from the P3's FFT. In fact the
SVGA while very similar to the P3's display by design is not going to be
We're investigating this problem with the SVGA on some customers' monitors in
the 1920x1080 resolution. For example my Acer P236H monitor has no problem
syncing to the SVGA's video signal. We'll let you know as soon as we have
a solution.

Hi Igor,
We found the higher baud rates unreliable with some combinations of
equipment. We'll be providing much better throughput in the future using
some form of data compression.

The server is up as far as I can tell, I am able to download. I will email
you a copy of the firmware just in case you are still having trouble.

P3 version 1.13 is now available from the Elecraft website and FTP via P3
utility.
Release notes for this revision:
Removed 57,600 and 115,200 baud from the RS-232 menu.
Added "SVGA font" menu selection to change font size on external display.
(Requires upcoming new release of P3SVGA firmware)
Hi Toby,
I was able to duplicate it here in the lab, so it's on the list for the next
release.
Thanks and 73,

Hi Bill,
The SVGA hardware allows the waterfall height to be set much higher than
what is available on the P3. Until we have the ability to independently set
the waterfall height on each display, we wanted customers to be able to take
advantage of this feature.

Many of you have asked if there is a way to modify your K3 so that it can
provide enough current to supply a P3 with the SVGA board. We are currently
working on a mod kit that will do just that. We'll let you know as soon as
we have something available.

Hi Bill,
We're going to start shipping a 6' 2.1MM power cable with every P3SVGA board
ordered. The other end of the cable is bare and can be used to connect the
P3 directly to your 12V mains. This should start by tomorrow or the next
day. If your SVGA hasn't shipped yet, there'll be one in the b
Detlef,
We've been able to duplicate this in-house at Elecraft and are working on a
solution. From what I can see, it only occurs when the P3 is in fixed tune
mode. As soon as new firmware is available, I will put it up for
distribution.

There's probably a very good chance that we'll be implementing keyboard
macros on the P3SVGA Keyboard Interface. Either function keys or some other
keystroke combination is my guess.

with memory function. The Morse code sender can be adjusted for WPM (words

My vote: extra battery, space for a DC and programming cables, plus bnc cable
and maybe an adapter or two. What would be nice is if the case could have
some relief for the power button.

Remember those watch bands from the 70's? We built up a scale model in the

Hi Richard,
What frequency are you generating where you notice this?
The XG3 has 1 Hz resolution over it's fundamental range of 1.5 to 200 MHz.
The calibration should be done at 10 MHz as this is the frequency of the
internal crystal. The values entered for the calibration values do not

Mark,
I agree with you. If your REFCAL is on the button, or fairly close (which
I'll have to calculate) , the XVn values should then be set to zero. I'll
talk to our technical writer and address the changes to the manual.
Thanks,
