Measuring RF power at QRP levels is really not difficult.

Now unless I misunderstand an EFLWA (end fed long wire antenna ) can
be used as long as it is a 1/4 wave length of the lowest operating
frequency and has a counter poise? 80m would be 66' as would be the
counter poise. the K1 w/KAT1 should have no problem tuning this or a KX1
on 40/30/20m.
I finished building my kat1 atu and attempting to install it in my k1.
there is a jumper on p3 next to the antenna connector that I believe
needs to be changed to allow the atu to be used but I did not see any
indication to that effect. I'm on page 8 of the atu manual. any help on
this is

Several times over the last couple of months during the building of
first my K1 (#1949) and then my KX1 ( #1056). I was intimidated by the
instructions in the manuals. First with the K1 and KAT1 that I finally
got the nerve to finish and install it today. The KX1 did a number on
me too
The 30m Mod arrived in Mondays mail. I wasn't able to get to it until
today.
From start to finish it took about 2 hours to populate and install. The
documentation really made it seem more difficult then it turned out to be.
What a gas.Now while I had the case open I compressed the coils of L2

I am some what embarrassed to say this but the fastest CW speed I ever
attained was 13wpm in 1980 when I passed my General exams. I worked

I wish to thank all who responded to on the posed K1, KX1, K2 time and
difficulty question.
I am leaning toward the K2 since my idea of portable operation is field
day (maybe?). To be
truthful building the GEAR is more fun the operating it as the building
removes the stresses
everyday
I just completed my K1 (ser #1949). Using the K1 as a base line for time
and difficulty. Please compare the K2 and KX1. I wish to start looking
at my next project. I like building kits
