[Elecraft] K-3 Odd problem on 160m (second posting)

I put up a new 160m dipole and SSB signals sound as if something is pumping the AGC while it's in the slow mode. SSB Stations sound much better with Fast AGC. I have a Dunstar 600 but since I am using the aux ant jack it's not used on receive. Perhaps I should reconfigure to add the Dunstar?

I've been a subscriber to this list since the day I ordered the K3 back in March 2008. The factory assembled and tested radio is due to arrive next week. I'd like to hear about any issues previously listed here I need to read before next week. Please respond to me OFF-LIST as I am sure this

[Elecraft] Stop the skidding

The very best material for stopping anything from skidding on the radio desk is shelf liner. It seems to be made of a soft rubbery material that has a cross hatch pattern with holes in it. It's very easy to cut with office size scissors. I use it primarily for keys and paddles. Comes in colors
