Interesting to see some of the info on the K2 muting and T/R topic. It
seems the person with the query appears to have a solution for his
needs. Great.
I was going to bring up the topic of Jim Kortge's Magic Box, which at
one time was available from 4 States QRP Club. No longer though.

I have had a K1 here for some time now and it did not get a lot of
attention.
I was not all that happy with how fast it tuned.
Well.. anyhow last week I had extra time on my hands so pulled out some
of the neglected rigs.
Found the K1 was a good rig.. made decent contacts.
But I did find I
I realize there are a myriad of differences between the K2 and
K3, but today I read the specs in each owners manual and was somewhat
surprised that the each is listed at about -135 dBm sensitivity (pre-amp
on for K2...pre-amp off at - 130 dBm for K2).

It appears that the Anderson power power cable failed when I went to
put it back on the K3 (where it usually is for my main rig) the K3 would
not power up!!
Measured no voltage at the rig end of the cable. Voltage was OK at power
supply output terminals.

First thing I decided to look at was my K2 with the amp integrated into
it and the separate KAT100 tuner connected outboard.
Things seemed fine overall and
I have no idea, obviously, what the USA market offers, but here we get 99.9%
(not 90%) isoprophyl alcohol. So much the better re. less residue of course.
Admittedly it was a bit hard to get at the beginning of the pandemic but that
seemed resolved with a couple months.

I have used both my K3 and K3S with two Speed-X bugs - Les Logan and EF Johnson
- since Oct 2019. Over 700 contacts in the log for the Straight Key Century
Club. Some of those contacts were with different tube/boatanchor xmtr or QRP
rigs, but the majority with the bug. I've not used a paddle
