If your KRC2 failed, try to reload the firmware. Sometime, mine fails and
this is only the firmware to reload. I use with a K3 with no specific
problems.

This may explain this particular result with the static noises.

HI Wayne
For additional commands, you can still use CAT commands and each user choose
how he uses the macros functions and reallocates each button... At least,
this way, you are not limited in the number of functions.
Yes, probably the XFIL/Dual PB is a good candidate for APF. Now the logic is
CE Marking is not required for HAM radio kits.

Can you tell me what CAT command is available to set date/time . I don't see
it documented in the programming manual.

Thank you. This is the way the K3 utility sets up the clock and I never
noticed since it is very fast.
I will emulate same commands.

Hello
A suggestion for Wayne/Eric :
1) a CAT command to update the clock so that third party software can update
constantly at least once at each seession.
2) a MENU to correct time error

You can send cat commands to simulate a press of an encoder. See page 17
of the programming manual (SWT SWH) commands.
For Shift/Lo it is SWT58 or SWH58
For WIDTH/HI it is SWT59 SWH59

Did you try removing power supply completly ? Or do a reset/reload the
firmware after you remove power supply.

Julian,
To avoid the iddle sequence, just send ^D at the end of the string as
indicated in the doc. You can send text word by word or phrase by phrase (24
characters less one for ^D). Letter by letter is not convenient in data mode
but supported in CW.

Lance,
Yes, switching OFF the AGC does lower smeter reading: I also confirm but
HERE by one or two units only maximum but it it also lowers reading for all
values of incoming signal and S9 becomes S8/S7... (here).
I think if I recalibrate with AGC OFF, I will have same readings.
Yours may be
Lance,
Something I forgot. If your smeter is calibrated with preamp OFF (as
required), set CONFIG: SMTR MD = ABS so you have same reading with PRE ON.
Eventually, this may help...

I confirm : same behavior here without antenna connected, around 25.MHz. The
noise while tuning is about S3 and stops as soon as you stop tuning. It is
more pronounced if you turn the dial rapidly. However, I think I am not sure
it is new ; I have seen something like that during first
Hello
Yes, it is not new but not very annoying since it is below the noise floor
and only while you move the dial rapidly. I have also this behavior on some
parts of 10m. I will do the mod the next time I add a module to the K3.

My goal is to completely eliminate the need for the K2x and K3x meta

HI Wayne
The day you work on the protocol, contact me again... my own list (sent to

Nothing critical however... Except may be the problems that may result from
the CONFIG:VFO OFS=ON and interaction with the Band stacking memory.
Anyway K3's protocol is reliable and it
Hello
2.25 or 2.24 are definitly better after I understand that settings are
totally different from previous versions. Just a question : it seems that
any change of settings (FX-Y, especially X, i.e from F3-3 to F2-2) is not
taken while you don't press NR OFF/On again.
73, Laurent F6DEX
I come back to 3.25 also ; was much better with 3.25. Here audio is much
lower with 3.27.

Hello
Something similar (V 2.82 and previous).
K3 set to max power (12W here)
Change power to 6W (or any power but not max power)
First key down (CW SSB Tune) power = 9W (about)
Second key down power = 6W
In fact any change of power is not taken properly for the first key down.
I can repeat
