watts to bust thru the pile ups and get heard LOL.. But this is the sweetist rig
I've had the most fun putting together and working..Elecraft sure
okay, the filters are driving me nuts! lol..I've been listening on all the
bands. Very good for just a wire tied to my clothes line. Ant being put up
this weekend, weather permiting. However when I [Fil] cycle through them the

I got my new RFC2 and installed it. Man did this radio come alive. Lots of
noise on some of the bands but I heard something on all of them. I installed
the DSP unit, built that up while waiting for the replacement choke. WOW the
noise went away and all kinds of folks out there, and that with 1
I think I have a receive problem. Just completed the last stage of the K2. I
have a 20M receiver that is pickin up ssb on 14.250 ish... nice and strong. The
K2 hears nothing. I have a MFJ-207 and I set it to generate a 14mhz signal and
the K2 can find that signal..but its sitting right next to
I saved this till last. I only have 2 caps left in my tray. On page 65 it says
that C22 is a 3.3 pf (3.3) in value.. I dont have that particular cap..but...on

Just finished the test part II. Receiving rf, BFO and OSC in specs.

I setup for test #1, turned on power...NOTHING.
Luckily I am using a pwr supply that shuts down real fast on overload.
I louped all the boards with a 10X loupe so I just went thru the parts
placement. I had placed the F1 resettable fuse into the 10 aux pwr slot
right above it!... moved it to whe
Finished the Front Panel, Control Panel, and first part of RF Board ready for
the tests. Assembled and find I used the short spacers on the Front Panel so
gotta correct that. Resistance checks show no shorts. Bought a 10X loupe and
checked all solder joints for bad ones and touched up any I foun
Ok, confused here. On page 28 of the Owners Manual it says to check off the
items NOT installed. If I have the SSB kit, which I do, it says to install them
now.
RP3 has some issues.. it says its a 10k resistor network and is supplied in the
SSB kit. The board shows it as an 8 pin inline part.
Just got my K2 , SSB, battery, DSP .. wow wow WOW
counting parts now..

the UPS truck somewhere by Des Moines, goin' nutz waiting for it. Hopefully it
will be all success on future posts to this board on the working E2 I've
finished. Until it gets here I'll just keep on reading...
