supply volts.
Just wondering if maybe he has 4-1000 prejudice against solid state
linears...:)

The general assembly manual shows the KXVA3 installed well before the KPA3.
You might try it that way.

off the K3 would turn on the KPA500...hmmm...or is that not a problem?

wouldn't be that useful and couldn't be disabled with CONFIG (I guess).
But I think I would like the option...an inline switch on my part would
suffice for disabling the feature. Something to think about. Thanks for the
info.

Probably a simple circuit using the 12 volts on output would be the best
approach to provide a neg pulse to the pin #8 to the KPA500 for both power
on and power off. Also the pin #7 outputs a logic 5 volts when the K3 is
turned on...another possibility.

All built. Everything I've tried works. Drives very easily compared to the
Hercules II.
...still learning how to set PWR LEVEL per band...

The hum seems to be the 50 Hertz power supplies?

The hum is due to magnetic field in close proximity of the speaker...usually.
Sometimes RF gets into them usually on the power cord. Ferrite fixes this,
moving the speakers fixes the former.

Ha! I just put a Elecraft Noise Gen. kit together...missing one of the screws
for the battery holder.
BUT!
All the other important parts were there, so I forgive them. I love the
instructions and the way stuff just works when it's done.

be connected to a transceiver (like a Kenwood with
serial band data) for band data, etc.
The KPA500 AUX (VGA type 15 pin connector) can be connected to the K3 for
band data, etc.
Thanks.

Anybody using 240 VAC in the US? So it uses the same connector on the amp,
but you have to fit a different plug to mate with your 240VAC/20A wall
socket? Looks like this -! ...only without the dot.
Or better still, any droop using the 120VAC option? About 10 amps I guess.

I am really wanting to order this, started to twice, but the LED alignment
kind of is holding me back. The screws I can manage. Any chance one of you
can post a picture so I can see what or not the misalignment looks like?
Thanks, Chuck KE9UW
