I am also hearing impaired, but like to use a headset with microphone. My
hearing aids just didn’t work with my favorite headset, but I discovered a
work-around. I used the K3 audio receive settings to boost the frequencies
required. For CW, I applied essentially a lot of gain to amplify my
which leads to the question - what are the best-selling commercial HF
rigs of all time? >10,000 KX3 units sounds pretty impressive and must put
Elecraft in the top tier.

I have considerable experience with both commercial and home-brew loops.
As others have said, it is tough to obtain maximum efficiency - the two
largest contributors to loss being resistance in the tuning capacitor and
ground losses. A couple of wires soldered to the tabs of a receiving
Synthesizer board going to new home - still have the KXV3.
