I built K2/10 #2706 back in ... was it 2001?.
I operate the K2 portable now and then, it is a joy to use.
In early 2009, i built K3/100 #2878, it replaced my trusty TS-850.
Happy Holidays

After seeing a recent post about building a K2, I'm wondering how many K3
owners have actually built a K2? It would seem that some kind of right of
passage should be given to those people that have built a K2 or even a K1,
before purchasing a K3. Maybe a sticker that they can put on their K3

I built K2 # 3478 and K3 #280 and K3 #868. I use the K2 with a DEM 903 MHz
transverter. K3 #280 is used with a Hz transverter. I have sold K3 #868.

My K2 #5945 holds a special place in my heart :) It was a blast to
build and still fun to use.
My K3 #476 has traveled a lot with me, and is my radio of choice.
I'd still like to do a KX1 one of these days...that's one neat little radio.

Check my signature plate on the bottom...many, many, many of us K3
owners have the earlier rigs (with no plans of selling them) :)

My K3 #476
Dear Gary:
I built a KX1, XV-144, K3, K2, and K1 in that order. Building the K2 was a lot
like building my HW-101 back in the day...a big enough project that it takes a
number of days to build it (my K2 is a fully-optioned QRP model). The thrill
on first power-up is tremendous!
I think the
with options as the ham budget allows.
All are a joy to build.

I built the K2-10 (s/n 5853) with lots of accessories for QRP CW.
Assembling the K3-100 was a piece of cake, compared to the K2.
Just a couple of days ago, I finished hooking the two together for
dual-receive
(I haven't yet purchased a KRX3). This application was inspired by
G4AON's reflector
I built K2 #2810 as a K2/10 in August 2002, and populated it over
time. It is the most fun I've *ever* had building any kit, and I've
built quite a few... before that, Heathkits mainly. The K2 traveled
with me for quite a few years as a hotel radio and kept me off the
streets when on business

K2 #789
K1 #123
K3 #123
In that order and wouldn't part with any of 'em!!
BTW: The K1 and K3 serials are correct. Just the luck of the draw!

I built K3 #96, K2 #72, and K1 #44. A 2nd K2 I own was built by W5JAY, but
I've added a few things to it since.
