Good Evening All,
At z the 20 meter band fell silent. Then, out of this silence
sprang the Elecraft CW Net. Folks were not too tired to slow down from 40
wpm contesting speed to check in. 17 folks on the first net and 12 on the
second one. The bands were not worn out but seemed
Good Evening,
First off, thank you very much to Tom Hammond. N0SS ran most of the
show this evening and deserves praise for his help and efficiency. I am
not feeling very well and will be in bed soon with Nyquil soothing my sore
throat and sinuses. Luckily my colds only last a few days
Another interesting evening on ECN. We had quite a geographical spread
with very good signals on 20 meters. Unless you told me I could not tell
the difference between QRP and QRO signals. It was hard to believe some
of you were simply running 3 watts. It also pays to advertise. I asked

There were a number of signals we could not drag out. If you were one of
them I am sorry. One of these days I need to plant a few aluminum seeds
and see what sprouts

Good evening all,
20 meters was very good this evening while 40 had some QSB. Through
the help of Dick, W0NTA, and Tom, N0SS, we got 19 QNI on 20 meters. I
missed one however. I have a serial number but I could not get the call.
QSB was eating folks after the first contact so fills were
Good evening,
Both nets were productive this evening. 20 meters was very quiet and
40 meters was too. 20 was open from Nova Scotia to Georgia to Texas to
California to North Dakota and Minnesota. Colorado and Missouri had
representatives also. A couple folks had their new K2s to show
Hello Folks,
Another evening on the air. Some folks were taking a break from the
RTTY contest and others from the NA QSO party. Thanks for stopping by.
The KX1s seem to have something special going for them once again. From
Hawaii to Virginia to California to Alaska those rigs are
to
face :)

Hello All,
This evening was not very good for my reception. Without Tom's help I
would only have three folks on this list. I heard a few of the others but
I do not know if we could have exchanged much more than call signs. The
QSB was quite deep on 20 meters but the noise was the biggest
Hello All,
20 meters was fun and 40 meters was a bit of trouble this evening. 20
meters started with me sitting on frequency listening to the testers madly
sending code. Could not help myself so I exchanged info with N0IJ. My
one official contest contact during the 48 hour period. I

Hello All,
The twenty meter net went well this evening but some local QRN just
drove me off the forty meter net. A wall of noise covered everyone up so
I let the net go free. Mr. Hammond was on the air so he may have taken
the NCS slot at that point. I'll see an email soon if that was
Good Evening,
It was fun to hear from you all again this evening. I am very curious
about what Bill is up to but I'll get more later :) 2 inches of snow
definitely had my interest piqued. Propagation was unpredictable. Tom in
Missouri was weak but Dan in Georgia was much better than he

their area. This was creating a bit of havoc here in Oregon. But I got

Good evening folks,
The Elecraft nets for this evening were interesting to say the least
:) The first one was getting called by rabid FISTs members asking for
numbers and I had lots of pileups to dig out. XL came through loud and
clear so I think Ric is a seasoned veteran of breaking a
Thanks to help from Bill, Tom, and from the wilds of Nova Scotia: Gary we
achieved a very good number of check ins. The band was quiet and the help
was able. Thank you very much. We got a few new faces on 20 meters
(14049.5 kHz) and welcomed back a number of regulars. Ric was caught

Howdy,
40 meters was a bit more difficult than was the 20 meter net. First I
had to pass off control early since I had tuned on the wrong antenna :(
Tom worked away through the Heartland logging folks from ND, PA, TN, KY
then branched off to FL. He ran the well dry I thought and then
I am feeling a bit under the weather but running the net does lift my
spirits :)
On 14050 kHz the band was pretty good with two way QSB. The East Coast
was a bit tougher than normal to pull out.

W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031

Another fine net was held on 7045 kHz at 0200z. Signals were pretty good
and I got QNI from all over. Some areas are a bit stronger than others
but that's the nature of the beast. Fun chatting with you all. Looks
like Russ has very fine weather but I cannot compare his to what you folks

Hey Kevin,
I found out why I was weaker than usual. I was Mobile, in motion, with
an outbacker on the trunk lip mount. Well usually that Diamond mount
has a little 2 ft 2 meter Hamstick. The big Outbacker with 70 MPH of
windload caused it to ratchet down to horzintal. It was sticking straight
out
Good evening,
The band was quite nice this afternoon. Signals from all over were
strong. Mini pileups were happening now and then and we had fun on 14050
kHz.
The list:

VE1RGB - Gary - NS - K2 - 2519
KC0OSB - Sidney - CO - non Elecraft

Fourty Meters was a bit noisier than 20 meters this evening but that just
made things a bit more interesting. No relays to help but I think I
picked up most everyone calling. Some were even using marginal antennas.
You may remain nameless if you wish :) I am not sure if running a net is
ECN/2 was held on 7045 kHz after an abortive start on 7044 kHz. The Run
for the Bacon was in full swing so we had number of Flying Pigs root us
up. I guess I could have given them my pig number but they might have
gotten their snouts bent out of shape since I was running 100 watts :)

ECN/1 was held on 14051 kHz this evening with a bit of QRN in the form of
buzzing. Drove me nuts; well, more so. There were a number of very light
stations so I am unsure whether I picked you all up. I am sorry but I
tried to work my way through the pileups without missing folks.
The list:
Good evening folks. ECN/2 was held at 0200z on 7045.5 kHz. There was S5
to S7 noise the entire time so my ears are ringing. Bill, K1EV, ran the
net for a few calls and got a signal report (via email) from Geoff, GM4ESD
of 339. One of these days the band will be good enough for him to give
ECN/1 was run on 14050 kHz this evening amidst a number of contesters from

All,
I had just worked a DL in the WAE contest with my K1-2 on 14052.

My K2 at 5 watts into dipoles made 158 Q's in 27 EU countries. Only worked
about 7 hours.
Could have done a lot better if there had been more EU stations and contries
Fine signals and signal reports followed the net across the continent this
evening. Bill checked a bit early as I was claiming a frequency. Very
strong signal. He was followed by Gary in Nova Scotia who decided it was
time for my 25 wpm test :) Nice fist Gary! Then we worked West with Ken

The Elecraft 40 meter net was run on 7044 kHz this evening through much
QRN and a bit of QRM. I had Tom for a minute or two. He called the net
and got AC7XR but could not drag him in. I got Mark's name and call but
that was about it. The noise was just too much. Then along comes John,
