Good Afternoon,
Last night twenty meters was not a happy band. Other than Rick's mighty KX1
signal there were no strong stations. He was 599 here while I could not hear
Pete's KX1 from California. It was rough going. Forty meters was not good to
me either but N0SS had a better time of things. He worked the lion's share of
the check ins.
Just before the nets I saw the first snow of the season. By the time the
second net rolled around it was starting to stick. This morning my alarm clock
was unnecessary since the fir trees were unloading snow onto my roof. Now it
is all gone but there was mixed snow and rain until about noon.
I need to finish a little work on the front room before I can move all of my
equipment back there. The cold weather is forcing the issue. I'll need to
wear gloves soon if I don't get closer to the fireplace! But the wood supply
is in order, the chimney is clean, and the stove has been caulked. Sam likes
his box close to the back of the stove where he can keep an eye on me and stay
warm at the same time.

Sorry these notes are out a little late. I thought it better that I get
some rest last night. I feel much better today. Now to finish some
insulating. Yuck, if it is one job I dislike it is getting covered with
fiberglass! I am putting on a mask, goggles, hooded sweatshirt, plus gloves.
Hopefully that will help me keep most of it off my skin. But it will keep Sam
and I warmer and let me move my base of operations closer to the fire.
   Until next week stay well,
      73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
