Good Evening, The bands were more spread out today. I just noticed I did not work anyone from Colorado. Normally I get two on twenty meters and often one on forty meters. Today not a peep. But I did work Connecticut on both bands. Indiana too. Luckily the sun got into the act this week supplying more ions. The change in season is also assisting us.
Weather reports were of a cooling across the North. The two Texans were not good enough copy to ascertain their temperatures but the ops from California described summer heat. I am toasty too but that is because my woodstove is going strong. Looks like autumn has come early. I was hoping for another few weeks of fair weather but it is now rainy, foggy, and cold. They paint in broad strokes but describe a warmer than average July and August for the Pacific Northwest with a longer summer season than we had this year. They also call for a milder winter with less snow and rain than normal. This is good. Now to collect as much wood as possible between now and the truly rainy season so I will not live my life on theory alone. I am a pragmatist who likes to be prepared for the worst while enjoying what comes along. Until next week stay well, 73, Kevin.
