The external ALC test procedure P.4 rev B of the K3 external ALC Modification
instructions calls for a "1K to 10K series resistor between the negative and
the K3 ALC pin". Is this resistor also needed when using the ALC with an
amplifier, in my case an Icom PW-1?

Why does it take so long for the K3 power output to build up to full power
after removing the external ALC?

When I set up this test procedure and tested the external ALC it does not
remove all of the power output from the K3, 12 watts still show up on my
Powermaster wattmeter with full ALC applied from the 9 volt battery.

I'm in digest mode so if you me ask a question I might be slow to respond.
