[Elecraft] Heil boom set microphone issue

I have a Heil boom mic with n IC element. I have their adapter which I used OK with my K2 with no problems. I am not a SSB operator so I had not used my 2 year old K3 on SSB. Today I tried to do that but their is no audio. I have the menu selected for Front panel and the Vox gain is 51. It does
