K2 #4325 was tested on air this morning for the first time ever with good
reports on CW and SSB. This set is owned by gentleman who is currently
taking the Local Branch's Radio course and will be sitting his ticket early
next Month. The kit is the first he has built since the days of Heatkit,
and he has done a nice job. I was the "Chief Elmer" and had little to do
with the process apart from a bit of advice........and the on air testing.
With ZL now relaxing the Morse requirement the K2 should be on air regular
next Month.I am sure the owner will have a ball with it.
(Incidently he aims to do the Morse test as well even though it is no
longer a requirement here)
