in many cases better that the far more expensive ham foot switches. I have
one on the K2 and on the K3 have 2 from a Y
Hi I just use the hand PTT switch supplied by Heil works well for me.
I use a Heil Proset with the HC 5 insert.

The footswitches that I have had the best use from.. are the heavy metal ones
used in Communications Centers,with the only failures being the cable from the
metal footswitch to the equipment. I've seen this dropped, and of course kicked
to no end... but never had a failure.. other than the
I've got a real one now, but there was something to be said for a J-38
on a board with the spring screwed way down ... as long as you wore
shoes. PTT on some transmitters of the day was good for a moderate
toe-jolt if you didn't. :-)
